Date Nights

You have to be active in keeping the relationship alive

Note: This doesn't mean you have to spend lots of money.

Me & Dwayne tend to have or go on "Date Nights" quite often & it is a fun way to not only do & experience new things with your partner but it's also a good way for the two of you to spend time getting to know each other even better with the added bonus of minimal distractions or nice surroundings.

So, let me share with you some of our date night ideas!

No Money? No Problem!
- Nights in are a great way of spending time together. Get comfy on the sofa, scroll through Netflix and decide which films or TV series your going to spend the evening together watching. Of course, this rarely ever happens smoothly, there's always a bit of disagreement when it comes to genre. It usually boils down to a one on one between the massive gooey cheesy film I want to watch and the hard core action film Dwayne wants to watch. If this situation sounds familiar then why not choose one film each and watch them both! :)
To make your night in feel even more special than normal you can both vow to turn off your phones and really just focus on each other. Also, if you do have a bit of money you could order a takeaway, that way neither of you will even have to move from the sofa.

- Dwayne enjoys playing basketball and whilst I usually run miles away from any form of physical exercise, I actually enjoy playing some BBall with him at the local park. (And it's freeeee)

Restaurants
- We love going out to eat. Of course different types of restaurants have different kind of prices and so we normally save the more costly restaurants for more 'special' occasions. Our favourite restaurant has to be the Kervan Sofrasi, they serve the most delicious Turkish cuisine and my mouth waters just thinking about it. For about £15 you get a massive array of meats served on a bed of rice and couscous as well as complimentary salad, mezes and warm bread. The only downside is that the restaurant is always very busy and this means it's also quite noisy and so isn't the perfect place if you want to have a intimate chat with your partner.

- Our second favourite place to eat has to be Nandos (I have a whole blog post dedicated to it here). Surprisingly, it costs roughly the same if not more than Kervan Sofrasi for the both of us AND you get less food however, due to the fact that there's probably a Nandos less then 10 minutes away from your current location (if you live in London that is), we're more likely to end up in a Nandos than at Kervan.

- Lastly, our third top contender is a cheeky little Chinese buffet in Barking, Essex. It's called New Shanghai  and the selection of dishes available isn't massive but has all the things we like and everything is cooked to perfection. It's about £10pp including drinks which makes it the cheapest of our top 3!

At one stage in our relationship we took turns to take each other out. We'd try to keep our planned days secret from each other (something I totally suck at) but made the day even more exciting & fun. As a result of this little arrangement we've visited the London Aquarium and the London Eye as well as Ice Skating in the middle of Canary Wharf!
