Beauty

B is for Beauty.

I know I spoke about it in yesterdays post, but this one will be slightly different. Whilst getting ready for work this afternoon I decided that It would be nice to share with you some of the beauty products that I use and as it fitted with the letter B it was a perfect idea for todays post.

I remember going to Superdrug in my mid teens and looking at the vast array of foundations, mascaras, lipsticks, and all the rest and thinking "where do I even begin!?"

Now, I don't wear much make-up, hardly any compared to some of the tutorials I've come across on YouTube but here I go anyway...

BB Cream
On return from my holiday to Turkey in July, I found that the foundation that I was previously using was far too light for my new darker skin tone. One day whilst getting ready to go out I frantically searched through the vast array of half used foundations and BB creams that I had laying around in my room when I came across the All-in-One BB Cream from the Body Shop. It retails at £12 and the bottle isn't very big at all but for someone like me who only uses it occasionally the bottle does last a long time.

It comes only in 4 shades but manages to adapt to your skin colour effortlessly on application. It's easy to apply, gives me good coverage and an all round even skin tone on my face. The only thing that I personally don't like about it is the kind of 'shiny' look it gives my face if I just use the BB cream alone. This brings me on to my next product...

Bronzing Powder
So, to get rid of the shiny look I get from the BB cream I use Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder. It retails at about £8 but i'm pretty sure it lasts forever. Using a brush I gently apply the bronzing powder all over my face & this gets rid of the shine as well as gives me a slightly bronzed colour that compliments the rest of my complexion. You just have to be careful not to use too much otherwise you may find people mistaking you for an Umpa Lumpa!

Mascara
Last but by no means least I use the "they're real! mascara" by Benefit Cosmetics my boyfriend brought me a while back. It is by far my favourite mascara ever! It retails at a very expensive £19.50 but it is soooo good. Not only does it actually add noticeable length and volume it's also very long lasting. There's been a few nights where i've fallen asleep with it on and it's still looked flawless in the morning. Of course this does mean its a bit of a nightmare to remove but some good eye make-up remover or wipes do the trick.

And thats all!

Of course I've gone through years of testing and trialling to get to this point but i'm currently very happy with these three products and will continue using them until I stumble across something better!

Perfume
I could never bring myself to buy perfume.

Partly because my mum always has a huge collection and so I just use hers but also because they're so expensive & most perfumes just make me want to sneeze. A couple of months ago as I was rooting through my mums perfume collection I came across this little bright blue bottle with a dark red top. I thought to myself "this looks a little different to the usual DKNY bottles I usually stumble upon." So I gave it a sniff and well it was different... but i really liked it! It's call "LouLou" the smell is so hard to describe but it's very distinctive.   The next time you pass perfume shop stop and ask for a sample and you'll understand what I mean!
