Psychology

If I haven't already told you, I'm currently studying for a degree in Psychology at City University London.

I've been studying Psychology as a subject since college & that's where my love for it really blossomed. One annoying thing, however, about studying psychology is the oh-so-frequent mundane conversations you have to have with people when they ask you what you're studying. They usually go a bit like this:

"So what are you studying at Uni then?"

"...Psychology"

and before you even have the chance to explain

"I guess your trying to read my mind right now then?"

Erm. Well.

Not exactly.

I'm pretty sure I said Psychology; not Psychic.

Contrary to popular belief instead of learning how to read your mind I'm finding out stuff like why the complex mind is so easily fooled by optical illusions and how childhood experiences shape our future.

Psychology is one of those subjects you'll hate studying if your not fully passionate about it... I think that pretty much goes for many subjects, especially at degree level. One piece of advice I would like to give to anyone going on to study at Uni is to carefully read through the course and module info beforehand. A good handful of people dropped out of my course within the first few weeks because they 'didn't know' that there was going to be maths involved, they could have saved so much time by simply doing a bit of research beforehand!
