London

On Wednesday my Auntie Judy and Cousin Owen came to London for the day from their little hometown of Doncaster. My mum, Kayla & I acted as their very own tour guides and showed them round some of our favourite parts of London for as little money as possible.

They arrived into Londons' Kings Cross station at around 10:15am and with only 9 hours on the clock we had to quickly put on our walking shoes and head off underground to our first destination: The Science Museum

I must admit It's been a long time since I've been there and one thing I did notice is that it is a lot more fun and interesting when you are 8! Nevertheless it's free entry and some of the stuff is really cool to take pictures off. Can't complain really!

After deciding the Science Museum wasn't floating anyones boat, apart from my 3 year old sisters, we decided to move on to our second location: Westminster & the South Bank. So we walked through the long underpass to get back to South Kensington Underground Station and jumped on the District Line to Westminster. I've never been inside the houses of Parliament but I love the look of the building from the outside, a great piece of history preserved amongst an ever advancing city.

We then proceeded to cross over Westminster Bridge to the South Bank. It was here we stopped for a bit to refuel on McDonalds milkshakes, coffees and Hamburgers before heading into my favourite London Arcade after the closure of Trocodero: Namco Funscape

With just a couple of pounds I helped my little sister win 150 tickets that enabled her to get a small Minnie Mouse figurine and a handful of sweets. After our fun and games we carried on walking down South Bank towards Embankment. Along that small stretch of land by the Thames there are a number of Londons' top attractions including the Sea Life aquarium, the London Dungeon and of course the famous London Eye

After this we took a little break in Jubilee Gardens which is just by the London Eye. I love this stretch of London because there's always something going on. There's the usual street performers, of whom some do some pretty amazing stuff, whilst others not so much. (We saw a man fit his whole body through a tennis racket by dislocating some of his limbs, YUK). Additionally, there's sometimes funfairs and circuses too!

After our little stop at Jubilee Gardens we travelled full steam ahead over Hungerford Bridge to Embankment Pier, where we hopped on a Thames Clipper to the Tower of London. I've travelled along the river on a Thames Clipper 2 times previously by boat, for only £4.50 per Adult for a single fare (children go free) it's a cheap way to experience London from a whole different perspective.

It was just before we disembarked the boat that the battery on my phone died which I have to use to take all my pictures as the Lens of my Nikon 1 is currently having some issues haha. So no more pictures from here on out. Once we'd made it back onto dry land we hopped back onto the underground to make our way back to Kings Cross so that my Aunt and Cousin didn't miss their train home! Arriving at Kings X with time to spare we opted in to have a cheeky kebab before we said our goodbyes.

All in all it was a lovely day that cost me just a little over £20 including the £7 I spent on a travel card! With frequent rest periods in beautiful places we made sure that we got the most out of sightseeing as well as making sure we weren't all extremely tired from doing so much walking. I wish we'd got to show them the cobbled streets of Covent Garden & the lovely lights of Leister Square but there just wasn't enough time!

I made a little friend who was willing to pose for me! So Cute!

Where's your favourite parts of London? Comment and let me know :)
